one.year.old!

 the BIG day started with a little fun with our daddy, then some yummy breakfast at home...

 followed by some fun playing on the floor w/ Ruby (M is sitting on her in this pic)...

 we headed to barnes and noble to read some good books and then to meet our daddy for a yummy birthday lunch on the patio...

after lunch, we headed straight to the AMOA, this was Meryl's fav painting for sure. by MIRO

 then played some more with our fun new toys and ate a DELISH spaghetti dinner made by her Daddy (Meryl's FAV meal), then cake + ice cream. After dinner, clearly we took a birthday bath... after our bath  Meryl was SUPER hyper and played and played and played...until we finally put the birthday girl to bed.

 we had a super fun time at her Birthday party this past weekend. We loved spending the weekend w/sweet family and friends! (THANKS to all who traveled to come celebrate with us, it meant soooo much to us!)--more birthday party pics to come--

Over the past month Meryl has started saying more + more words...tonite she started saying "two" sounds like "tooooooooooo". Other words, owl, "du" duck, "hau" house, "burr" birds. She's also started signing "more" and "all done".

Meryl loves to pretend to talk on the phone (and say "bye bye" while she's holding whatever it may be up to her ear), wake us up with squeals while we are pretend sleeping, and since this weekend--has started playing tea party. She loves to quickly crawl out of her room-so that we will chase after her, and squeals until we catch her. She likes to kiss Ruby and feed Ruby--they are besties for sure. She just LOVES to play on the floor and could do this all. day. long.

She is the sweetest, we are so excited to celebrate one yr with Miss Meryl! We really cannot believe this day is already here, that a year ago we had just met this sweet little lady!!
